Tulsa Apartments Talk Most Anticipated Netflix Original Releases of 2022

In need of more TV to watch on a lazy weekend at home in your Tulsa apartment? If you have a Netflix account, you’re in luck, because 2022 has some highly anticipated Netflix Original shows in store, from the next Stranger Things season to a Magic: The Gathering series and lots more! Here are five of the top most anticipated Netflix Original Series for 2022!

Stranger Things Season 4

The show that became an instant obsession in 2016 is back at it again in 2022! Slated for this summer, season 4 is said to have longer episodes than previous seasons, and perhaps for that reason has been separated into two halves, each with a different release date (the first in late May and the second in early July). The season will pick up six months after season 3’s Battle of Starcourt.

Wednesday

This Addam’s Family spin-off tells the story of a young Wednesday Addams as she navigates supernatural mystery as a high school student at Nevermore Academy. Designed as a horror comedy, it is likely to take after other Netflix Originals like the Sabrina series, but no doubt with a distinctive Tim Burton flare, since the acclaimed director is helming this series. It features Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia Addams alongside other stars like Gwendoline Christie and Riki Lindhome.

The Witcher: Blood Origin

Fans of The Witcher will be treated to a prequel series this year. The Netflix synopsis reads: In an elven world 1,200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men and elves merge to become one — and the very first Witcher arises.” In other words, it’s poised to be what the Silmarillion was for Lord of the Rings, but hopefully with broader appeal and more efficient storytelling. In fact, as a miniseries, this prequel will only have 6 parts, making it an easy binge-watch for Witcher fans.

The Sandman

Based on the popular comic by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman is set in the DC Comics universe and features stars like Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman, Stephen Fry, and Patton Oswalt. Tom Sturridge plays the title character, also called Morpheus and Dream. The synopsis reads: In 1916, Morpheus, the king of dreams and one of the seven Endless, is captured in an occult ritual. After being held captive for 105 years, he escapes and sets out to restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming.

Magic: The Gathering

One of the world’s most popular trading card games is getting its own Netflix series in the latter half of 2022, and it comes as no surprise after the success of shows like Arcane and The Legend of Vox Machina, which engaged fans of League of Legends and Dungeons & Dragons (specifically the Critical Role livestream) respectively. The story will take place on the plane of Ravnica and feature established characters like Gideon Jura, one of the planeswalkers of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse.
