apartments for rent in tulsa budapest

For many residents of our new apartments in Tulsa, OK, Europe is a desirable travel destination but may seem out of reach due to the cost of traveling there. While flights to Europe may not be the cheapest from Tulsa, there are nevertheless places to visit in Europe that can accommodate more modest budgets while still offering a wealth of experience. Today, we’re talking about three affordable European cities that we recommend visiting!

Know a friend or neighbor in our community of luxury apartments in Tulsa who’s been bitten by the travel bug? Be sure to share this post with them once you’re done the reading! Now let’s discuss cheap European travel destinations, shall we?

Budapest

For the best mix of big-city excitement and small-town prices, head to Budapest, Hungary. Home to more than 1.7 million people, Budapest has one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe. Despite the large population and fast-paced growth, Budapest remains extremely affordable. You can go out to a high-end meal with your travel companion and spend less than $50. A quick lunch shouldn’t cost you more than $4. Even the tourist attractions are affordably priced!

Public transportation will help you get around easily and cheaply in Budapest, allowing you to hop around to various museums, pubs, and historic sites. While you’re there, stop by the Royal Palace, which houses museums and a library and makes sure to devote some time to relax in one of the many thermal spas and bathhouses.

Prague

If you’re going to go to Budapest, you might as well stop by Prague on your way there. Prague is more of a tourist city than Budapest, but it’s still incredibly affordable so long as you stay away from the tourist traps. The best thing about Prague is that it’s relatively small and easy to get around. You can get a feel for the city after just a couple days, then hop on a train and head to Budapest!

While you’re in Prague, be sure to stop by historic sites like Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, which offer a wealth of history and site-seeing with no entry fee. Beer-lovers should also find plenty of excellent pilsners and other delicious Czech brews to sip on.

Porto

The last spot on our list is a small port city on the coast of Portugal. Of the three cities on our list, it’s probably the easiest to get to from Tulsa. Porto is a picturesque seaside town that’s managed to stay under the radar somehow. That means prices are affordable and crowds are sparse!

When you’re in Porto, be sure to enjoy some of the port wine, seafood, and varied architecture. Pack some walking shoes to explore Porto’s various museums and a swimsuit to enjoy some time on the beach.
